Doctors at a Dhaka hospital have said that the Narayanganj mayor is recovering and can be released soon.
At a press briefing on Saturday night, authorities of Lab Aid said Mayor Selina Hossain Ivy could be released within two or three days.
Senior Cardiologist Prof Boren Chakravarty said: “Mayor Ivy is not only stable, she is recovering. She had an injury at the back of her brain due to a stroke. We have been testing and observing her for the last few days.”
“According to our observations she is improving.”
On Sunday Ivy will be moved from the ICU to a cabin, the doctor said.
“We will advise tha she see the doctor again after 10-15 days,” he said.
Mayor Ivy fell seriously ill on Thursday afternoon and was rushed to the hospital. She had been complaining of low pressure and chest pain, and had thrown up a couple of times since Wednesday.
Two days before that, she suffered injuries at a clash between her supporters and those of Awami League MP Shamim Osman at Narayanganj’s Chashara.
