The Defence Forces Chiefs' (appointment, salary, allowances and other benefits) Bill 2018, which will fix the maximum tenure of the chiefs' of the three defence services, was placed in the Parliament on Tuesday.
Law Minister Anisul Huq placed the bill and it was sent to the Parliamentary Standing Committee for further scrutiny.
The committee was asked to submit its report within 15 days.
As per the proposed law, the chiefs of army, navy and air force would be appointed for a maximum tenure of four-years from the date of their appointment.
The proposal law also fixed Tk 86,000 as salary for defence chiefs.
They will also outfit allowances, special residential facilities and all-time transport facilities plus other allowances, per the new law.
