Human Rights Forum Bangladesh (HRFB) has expressed deep shock over and sternly condemned the ongoing atrocities on Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar’s Rakhine state.
The network of 19 rights bodies has termed the brutality as equivalent to ethnic and religious cleansing and expressed grave concern over the multifaceted pressure weighing on Bangladesh due to the crisis.

HRFB has urged the Bangladesh government to put pressure on Myanmar and compel it to be accountable in this regard by undertaking several diplomatic efforts at the regional and international levels.
Moreover, the forum also requested the government to provide shelter to the Rohingya refugees and arrange required humanitarian assistance, including food and medication.

It also urged the government to continue its diplomatic efforts in a bid to bring in foreign aid for the refugees.
At least 336,000 Rohingya refugees have fled to Bangladesh since the latest military crackdown began on August 25.
