At least 15 people have been injured in clashes between activists of Jubo League and Chhatra League with quota reform protesters in Dinajpur.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the area around Dinajpur Government College.
According to police and local sources, students from various educational institutions gathered in protest for quota reform and blocked the roads, chanting various slogans.
Shortly after, leaders and activists of the Jubo League and Chhatra League arrived at the scene to counter with slogans in favour of the quota system. This escalated into a clash between the two groups.
During the altercation, Jubo League activists reportedly attacked the students with sticks, rods, and pipes. As a result, at least 15 students were injured.
Dinajpur Sadar Circle Superintendent of Police Sheikh Md Jinnah Al Mamun said: "Several people have been injured in the clash and scuffles. We will identify those involved based on video footage and photos and take legal action."
