Adam Tamizi Haque recently captured the public's attention following a series of perplexing live appearances on social media. Haque's erratic and unconventional behaviour during the social media streams has left many people eager to uncover who he actually is.

Adam Tamizi Haque is managing director of AT Haque Limited and is the son of Barrister Tamizi Haque, founder of the Haque Group of Industries. The Haque Group is an established player in the biscuit and battery industries in Bangladesh, tracing its roots back to 1947.

Following the passing of his father, Adam Tamizi Haque assumed the role of managing director in the Haque Group, inheriting the responsibilities that came with it.

An investigative television report that aired prior to his sisters' allegations claimed that Adam Tamizi had single-handedly assumed control of his late father's extensive estate.

Adam Tamizi Haque was born on December 29, 1976, in Dhaka’s Eskaton area. His early years saw him move abroad due to familial obligations, but he eventually returned to Bangladesh after completing his education.

He pursued his higher education at and graduated from the University of Middlesex, UK. Upon returning to Bangladesh, he dove into the family business.

In 2011, he took the reins of AT Haque Limited as its managing director. Under his leadership and because of his strategy and people-oriented outlook, the business experienced substantial growth, according to his personal website.

In 2017, he began to make forays into politics and humanitarian efforts by establishing a non-profit organization named Manobik Bangladesh. He was one of several individuals from the business community who had wanted the ruling party nomination to contest the city polls after the death of Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Anisul Huq in November that year.

When asked about his motivations for entering politics, he explained in various media interviews that he had studied politics and had long been interested in joining the political arena.

He also pointed to his long-standing association, both direct and indirect, with the Bangladesh Awami League for over a decade. His father was close to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"As a businessman, I strive to serve the common people in various ways. I entered politics with a desire to do this on a larger scale, implementing Bangabandhu's ideals and serving the people under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," Adam Tamizi said.

Adam Tamizi Haque did not secure any official position within the Awami League in 2017, but he managed to secure an advisory role within the Tati League Dhaka City North Committee, an affiliate organization of the ruling party.

Despite his defeat, Adam Tamzi Haque maintained contact with Awami League leaders and, in 2020, he became a member of the committee of the Dhaka North City Awami League unit. Although he was not prominently visible in the party's activities, he continued his humanitarian work through his platform, Manobik Bangladesh.

In recent times, however, Haque took to Facebook to announce that a State Minister from Gazipur was attempting to seize his business, compelling him to return to Bangladesh from overseas to safeguard his enterprise.

Haque then conducted a series of Facebook Live sessions, during which he controversially burnt his passport and made disparaging remarks about women in leadership, the Awami League, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In response to his actions, he was swiftly relieved of his party position, and the Dhaka City North Awami League suspended him. They also declared their intent to investigate the motives behind his perplexing Facebook Live broadcasts.

When contacted, several Awami League leaders dismissed Haque's claims that the party had extorted a staggering sum of Tk1,000 crore from him as preposterous and baseless.
