Hacker arrested for Facebook, WhatsApp scams in Rajshahi

Sakib has been arrested as an accused in a cyber-fraud ring and was picked up in connection with a case filed at Paltan Police Station in Dhaka

Najmus Sakib, accused of hacking Facebook, Messenger, IMO, and WhatsApp accounts, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Rajpara, Rajshahi.

In a press release on Wednesday, RAB said Sakib is a member of a cybercrime ring. Members of the group allegedly gain illegal access to Facebook, Messenger, IMO and WhatsApp accounts, change the passwords and then take full control of the accounts. They are accused of using these hijacked accounts to fraudulently extort money.

Sakib has been arrested as an accused in a cyber-fraud ring and was picked up in connection with a case filed at Paltan Police Station in Dhaka.

During initial questioning, he admitted to being involved in the crimes in collusion with other fugitives, RAB added.
