At least two Bangladeshi expatriates working in Saudi Arabia were killed while another was injured in a road accident on the Riyadh-Dammam Highway on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as: Md Shaheen of Bagerhat district and Md Saiful Islam of the Feni sadar, while the injured as Md Tapon of Feni.
Shaheen’s driver a Pakistani national named Md Khaled, was also killed in the accident which occurred around 3pm (local time) as the car carrying the four was heading to Dammam.
Md Shaheen was an investor in Saudi Arabia and was awarded the title of a Commercially Important Person (CIP) by the government of Bangladesh in 2008.
Earlier on March 5, two other Bangladeshis had been killed in a road accident at Wadi-e-Jinn in Medina.
The deceased were Joynal Abedin, 75, and his nephew Nazim Uddin, 60, of Narsingdi. The duo had gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
Witnesses said a private car hit Joynal and Nazim when they went to visit the Wadi-e-Jinn (Jiner Pahar), leaving them dead on the spot while leaving several others injured.
