Paris-based Bangladeshi writer and activist Pinaki Bhattacharya has been sued under Digital Security Act (DSA) by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC).
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner Md Faruk Hossain said that Pinaki Bhattacharya is engaged in anti-government propaganda.
If his full address is found, he will be brought back to Bangladesh through Interpol to face trial, the officer added.
Sub-Inspector (SI) KM Abdullah Maruf of CTTC filed the case against Pinaki and two others, including a Bangladesh Chhatra Dal leader, with Ramna police station on October 15.
The two other accused in the case are Mofizur Rahman Ashik and Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari.
Among them, police already arrested Mofizur Rahman Ashik.
The DMP officer also mentioned that they are now investigating what kind of conversation Pinaki Bhattacharya had with Mofizur. “Even if they delete the conversation, it will be retrieved.”
Police also said Mofizur contacted different people with his Facebook messenger. Pinaki and Mushfiqul were contacted.
Mofizur posted a status on his fake Facebook profile about a raid by police in Dhaka's Mirpur area. Pinaki also received the post on his Facebook messenger from Mofizur.
