Dear Gen-Z,
This is an ode, or perhaps an open letter, from a millennial on behalf of Generation Alpha.
A few days back, my six year-old nephew, Ilan searched up online, “How can I go to school safely?”. That day I felt helpless, unable to ensure his safety or guarantee a better place for him.
When I first held my nephew, I promised him in my heart that I would give him a world of happiness. However, with the political turmoil and the looming uncertainties, as my nephew grows and learns, I realized how hollow my promise was.
But then I look at you, Gen-Z. The sacrifices and determination you've shown have paved the way for a new beginning. My nephew won’t have to worry about the safety of going to school, his right to speak freely, or his fundamental rights.
Today, as students planted trees and controlled traffic -- or took control of their future, if more aptly put -- we witnessed how you not only made the roads and environment safer, but also became role models for the next generation. Your sacrifices are the seeds of change, sprouting hope for our Alphas! You’ve shown us that through resilience and action, a brighter future is possible.
