Delete all the people I’ve ever known
All those I’ve ever wanted to know
All those places I cease to belong
Everywhere I’ve ever wanted to go.
All the sunsets I’ve ever seen
With the belief that with another day
I’ll thrive to see the next
That is, unless my heart goes astray.
Everything I’ve ever fantasized about
Night drives, living in Canada, England, Sweden, Norway
Take all that away and what do you get?
A never ending aperture of despair and disarray.
For what I am is another story
Macabre, capricious, rather gory
A chronicle full of ups and downs
I’ve seen the smiles, yes,
But I’ve also seen the frowns.
Am I the villain?
The evil sovereign, heroes and heroines gone astray?
The Rumpelstiltskin with innumerable aliases?
The darkest evil that shrouds the light-ray?
Indeed, what I am is a mystery
Not one but many aspects have shaped me
But take away the devilish star align
And you’ll find that I am quite divine.
