Born to be an artist
Desiring to be the muse
Born as a poet,
Never the poem
When will I be the words,
And not the pain?
When will I be the picture
And not the painter?
When will I be the story
And not the author?
I wish others a calmer sea
But who will set mine still?
I wish, just for once,
I was the picture
And not just the photographer
But maybe after all,
I’m just born to write
Not to be written.
