International Master Manon Reja Neer emerged as champion of the Active Minds-ACG School Rapid Chess Tournament 2025 held in the capital Friday.
Fide Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid finished runner-up. Both earned 8.5 points as Neer topped the chart in tie-breaking system.
A total 230 students participated in the day-long competition at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School.
South Asia's first Grandmaster Niaz Murshed inaugurated the tournament. Grandmaster Reefat Bin Sattar also inspired the young chess players with his presence.
