General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, President of the Bangladesh Olympic Association and Chief of Army Staff, has left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia Thursday to observe the Saudi Games 2022.
Saudi Arabia's Sports Minister Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, who is also the President of the organizing committee, invited the Bangladesh Army Chief to attend the biggest national sporting event of the conservative kingdom.
The inaugural two-week sporting event will be held in Riyadh, featuring 45 sports.
SM Shafiuddin Ahmed will be present at the opening ceremony and witness various events.
Before that, he will be at a state dinner in honor of the invited guests where he will exchange views with the higher officials of the organizing committee.
The Army Chief is scheduled to return home Sunday.
