The Walton-BSJA Sports Carnival 2022 organized by Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association for its members is set to begin Thursday.
The carnival involving seven disciplines will raise its curtain with table tennis.
Carrom, chess, swimming, shooting, archery and call bridge are the other disciplines.
Table tennis and carrom will be played in both singles and doubles event.
Champion, first runners-up and second runners-up of the events will be awarded trophies and prize money.
A player adjudged as the finest player in a discipline will be awarded “the Best” trophy.
Official press conference of the Walton BSJA Sports Carnival 2022 was held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium press conference room Tuesday.
Senior executive director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries FM Iqbal Anwar Don attended the conference as the chief guest along with BSJA president ATM Sayeeduzzaman, general secretary Anisur Rahman, tournament committee convenor Raihan Mahmood and others.
“Walton has a very old relation with BSJA and we are happy that Walton has been able to be part of yet another BSJA event. Walton patronizes sports and we strongly believe that a nation can be developed through sports,” said Iqbal Anwar.
More than 50 members of the organization will be participating in various disciplines of the carnival.
