Bangladesh Grandmasters Ziaur Rahman and Enamul Hossain Razib registered victory while GMs Abdullah al Rakib and Niaz Murshed earned draw in the second round of the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2017 in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Ziaur beat Abirama Srinithi of India while Razib beat Klavansky Aron of South Africa.
Rakib meanwhile, drew with Nayak Rajesh of India and Niaz drew with Joshi Govind Ballash of India. In the women's event, Women's International Master Rani Hamid drew with Bommini Mounika Akshaya of India.
Rakib, Niaz and Fide Master Taibur Rahman, who drew with Gagare Shalmani of India, earned 1.5 points each after the end of the second round while Zia and Razib have a point each.
In the age-level categories, Bangladesh's youngest FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman earned 2.5 points to share second place along with five other players in the Open U-14 Group while Jannatul Ferdous was also placed jointly at second with 2.5 points in the Girls U-12 Group after the third round.
