Abdul Halim, the double record holder of the Guinness Book Of World Records, attempted his third world record cycling 13.74 kilometres with a football balanced on his head on Thursday.
Halim attempted the “most distance covered on a bicycle with football balanced on head” as prescribed by the Guinness Book of World Records at the Sheikh Russell roller skating complex.
With each lap covering 151 metres, Halim started his mission at 11:53am and after an hour and 19 minutes and 91 laps later, Halim finally lost his control of the ball. Guinness Book of World Records set a target of five kms for Halim but he ended cycling 9.74kms.
All the documents will be sent to the Guinness Book of World Records for official approval and it is expected to be approved within 12 weeks.
National Sports Council secretary Ashoke Kumar Biswas was present as the prime witness of the occasion.
