Shuttlers Shapla Akter and Elina Sultana reached the quarter-finals of the women’s individual event of badminton at Pokhara National Stadium in Pokhara Tuesday.
Elina won her game by 21-5, 21-8 points while Shapla received a walk-over after the first round ended 8-6.
Both won their games against the opponents of Bhutan.
The women’s doubles team comprising Rehana Parvin and Bristi Khatun also made it to the last eight beating Nepal by 2-1 sets.
In the men’s individual event, Sibgat Ullah also reached the quarters after beating Anish Gurung of Nepal by 21-17, 21-09 points.
