GM Niaz Murshed earned 7.5 points out of 10 games in the XXI International De Sant’s Chess Tournament which was held at Barcelona in Spain.
GM Niaz tied for 6th place with other 6 players but ended in the 10th position through tie-breaking system. Round 10 games were held on Sunday and GM Niaz beat IM Vogel Roven of Germany.
The event was held from August 23 to September 1 and a total 346 players from 47 countries including 21 grandmasters, 1 woman grandmaster, 51 international masters and 9 women international masters participated in the competition.
