Tehran city emerge unbeaten champions

Tehran (Saipa) chess team from Iran emerged as the unbeaten champions in the Asian Cities Chess Team Championship 2019, also known as Dubai Cup, with one more round in hand after beating Nepal’s Kathmandu city in the 8th round yesterday.

Tehran team, comprised of Grandmasters Mosadeghpour Masoud, GM Golizadeh Asghar, Pour Agha Bala Amirreza and IM Mousavi Sayed Khalil defeated Kathmandu by 3-1 sets to earn full 16 points from eight rounds.

Gopalganj City of Bangladesh and Kolkata City of India are sharing the 2nd position with 12 points each while BNSCB chess team of Dhaka are placed 3rd with 10 points. The last round of the meet will be held today.
