Khusbu wins Asian U-7 School Chess

Warsia Khusbu earned 7.5 points out of nine games to clinch the gold medal

Warsia Khusbu from Bangladesh became champion in the girls’ U-7 age group of the Asian School Chess Championship 2019 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. 

Khusbu earned 7.5 points out of nine games to clinch the gold medal. In the ninth round game, Khusbu beat Abylaikyzy Bibissara of Kazakhstan. 

The blitz event of Asian School championship was also held Thursday afternoon. Khusbu became runners-up with six points out of seven games and achieved silver. 

Earlier, the rapid chess event was held on June 20 where Khusbu claimed her first gold. 

Khusbu participated in the standard, rapid and blitz events of the girls’ U-7 age group and bagged two golds and one silver. Bis Mascot Private Limited sponsored Khusbu to participate in the Asian School Chess.
