Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib emerged as the champion in the “A” category of the Dr. Abul Kashem Chowdhury International Rating Chess, while GM Ziaur Rahman finished as the runners-up.
Both Razib and Ziaur ended with seven points each after round nine but the former clinched the title following the tie-breaking system.
Three players finished with six points each but International Master Minhaz Uddin, Fide Master Khandakar Aminul Islam and Fahad Rahman ended third, fourth and fifth respectively after the tie-breaker.
Ziaur’s son, Tahsin Tazwar Zia finished as the champion in the “B” category with 8.5 points from nine matches, while Firoz Ahmed emerged as the runners-up with eight points.
