Bangladesh improved their tally with 25 medals including 16 golds till Tuesday evening at the ongoing 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The tournament, consisting of almost 7,000 athletes from 190 countries around the world, started on 14th March and it will continue till 21st March.
Bangladesh sent a 139-person contingent which is taking part in athletics, bocce, swimming, badminton, table tennis, handball (men’s unified), handball (women), football (men’s unified), football (women’s unified), volleyball and basketball (unified).

Bangladesh, who have clinched seven silver and four bronze medals other than the gold medals, added four medals including two gold medals on Tuesday.
Hosts UAE, who clinched 100 medals, toppled down Russia to get the top position by earning 43 golds, 37 silvers and 22 bronzes.
Russia have same number of golds along with 30 silvers and 19 bronzes while India - who have highest number of medals till date - were in third with 42 golds, 50 silvers and 47 bronze medals.
The Bangladesh contingent will return home on Friday after Thursday’s final ceremony.
