More than 560 runners from 22 countries participated in 100km and 60km categories

Update : 28 Mar 2024, 12:05 AM

The Phuket 100km Ultra Marathon was held in Phuket, Thailand on March 2.

Imamur Rahman, the only participant for Bangladesh, completed the run in the 100km ultra category in 16:55:53.

More than 560 runners from 22 countries participated in 100km and 60km categories.

After finishing his run, Imamur said: "Because the running track is next to the sea, the humidity is high and the temperature that day was 38-39 degrees centigrade. Still, it feels good to complete the run. It is indeed a matter of pride to raise the flag of our country on foreign land.”

He did not succumb to the extreme hot and humid weather and raised the national flag at the finish line.

After completing the Vietnam Ultra Trail and Portugal Super Half Series last year, Imamur completed the Bangabandhu Dhaka Marathon on January 26 this year.

The youngster is gearing up to represent his country in more ultra and ultra trail marathons in future.
