In a bid to cement mutual bonhomie, a cycling expedition between the Indian and Bangladeshi armies will begin at Agartala, Tripura on March 22.
The expedition is expected to end on April 4, 2017, as confirmed by an Indian Defence statement.
The expedition will traverse through major Bangladeshi cities Comilla, Dhaka, Faridpur and Jessore before ending at Kolkata.
The expedition teams, comprising 15 soldiers each, will cover 500 km in 12 days. They will also visit historical sites of the Bangladesh’s Liberation War along the way.
Lt. Gen A S Bedi, GOC of Gajraj Corps, will wave the starting flag at Agartala itself.
