Bangladesh golfer Zamal Hossain finished the opening round of the Queen’s Cup, being held at Santiburi Samui Country Club, Koh Samui in Thailand, at fifth place along with seven other players after the first day’s play yesterday.
Ace Bangladesh golfer Siddikur Rahman was one among 27 players who were unable to finish the first round due to a weather suspension of one hour and 25 minutes and will return to complete the rest of his three holes today. Siddikur carded one-under-par after playing 15 holes.
Zamal hit three birdies and a bogey in the 12th hole to finish the day with a total of two-under-par 69. Thai newcomer Poom Saksansin snatched a surprise clubhouse lead in the rain-hit first day with a superb five-under-par 66.
