Bashundhara SuperGolf, a new sports and entertainment facility, was officially inaugurated in Dhaka on Thursday, with the venue aiming to make golf more accessible while offering a wider range of recreational and social activities.
Located near Madani Avenue, the facility was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, Sanvir Bashundhara Group Chairman Shafiat Sobhan Sanvir, Tanvir Bashundhara Group Managing Director Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan and Sanvir Bashundhara Group and Bashundhara SuperGolf Managing Director Aemil Ahmed Sobhan.
Business leaders, corporate representatives, sports and cultural personalities and members of the media were also present at the event.
Built around the concept of “More than just golf,” Bashundhara SuperGolf features 107 golf bays equipped with digital tracking technology.
The three-level facility also includes restaurants, a café, pro shop, golf simulator, training rooms, billiards facilities, VIP suites, meeting rooms, an event hall, a kids’ zone and a sports lounge.
Speaking at the inauguration, Aemil Ahmed Sobhan said the project was designed to offer visitors an experience beyond conventional golf facilities.
“Our main objective was to create a modern space where people can enjoy not only professional golf practice but also food, entertainment and social activities with their families, friends and corporate teams,” he said.
He said the facility had been planned and developed over more than a year, with an emphasis on providing international-standard services.
Rezaur Rahman, head of operations at Bashundhara SuperGolf, and Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan also spoke at the event, highlighting the facility's range of services and its potential contribution to sports, recreation and the broader economy.
Following the inauguration, guests toured the different floors and facilities of the venue.
According to the management, Bashundhara SuperGolf will offer both annual membership and pay-and-play options, allowing visitors to use the golf facilities without taking an annual membership.
The facility is expected to cater to golf enthusiasts as well as families, young people and corporate groups, combining golf, dining, entertainment and social events at a single venue.
The management said the facility aims to contribute to the wider development and accessibility of golf in Bangladesh while establishing a new destination for sports and recreation in Dhaka.
