English Premier League star Hamza Choudhury is all set to play for Bangladesh in international arena after receiving approval from FIFA’s players’ status chamber.

A press release from Bangladesh Football Federation confirmed the matter Thursday, stating that Hamza’s inclusion would inspire the new generation.

“Bangladeshi origin UK-based expatriate footballer Hamza Dewan Choudhury gets official permission to play for Bangladesh national football team,” said the statement from the football federation along with a video message by Hamza.

“I’m so happy with everything over the line. I can’t wait to be playing for Bangladesh,” said Hamza in the video where he was seen sitting inside a car.

The Leicester City midfielder received Bangladesh passport in August.

The BFF then started the procedure to obtain No Objection Certificate from the English Football Association, followed by seeking permission from the FIFA.

Hamza is going to be the first ever EPL footballer to wear the Red and Green jersey.
