Bangladesh skipper Sabina Khatun and winger Ritu Porna Chakma have received offer from European club Brera Tiverija, who currently sit top of the North Macedonian Women’s League standings.

“Ritu Porna and I received an offer from a North Macedonian club but nothing is finalized. There could be visa complicacies,” said Sabina at the Bangladesh Football Federation House Saturday.

“They (Brera Tiverija) talked about four players first but later they wanted two from January. They are now top of the table,” added the captain, Bangladesh’s first female footballer to have played abroad.

Sabina made Indian Women’s League debut in 2018 featuring for Sethu FC.

The 31-year old played for Kickstart in the last IWL season.

She along with Maria Manda, Monika Chakma and Ritu Porna played for Bhutanese club Royal Thimphu College SC in the debut AFC Women's Club Championship League in August.

Brera Tiverija currently have only two foreign players — Goya Tcheury Harumi from Brazil and Cashlin Copley Jane from the USA — whereas many competitors utilize five foreign players per team.

The champion of the Macedonian domestic league will earn a place in the group stage of the UEFA Women's Champions League for the following season.

Sabina was the top-scorer as well as the best player of the 2022 SAFF Championship when Bangladesh women lifted their first trophy, while Ritu Porna was adjudged the best player in the just concluded 2024 edition as the Bengal Tigresses retained the title as unbeaten champions in consecutive campaigns.
