"Finally we are here in Palestine. All the teams are residing in the same hotel. Ibrahim joined the team in Amman. We had a three and a half hours hassle in the Israel border, which was unfortunate. After more than 12 hours of journey, we are here," said team manager Satyajit Das Rupu on Monday.Assistant coach Roksy said, "We are now mentally prepared to face the upcoming challenges in the Qualifiers. From [Monday] our main mission starts and we are fully focused for the tournament. We seek blessings from the people of Bangladesh." Bangladesh will kick off their Qualifiers campaign with the match against Jordan on Wednesday.
Bangladesh U-23 team reached the city of Bethlehem in Palestine on Monday ahead of their AFC U-23 Championship 2018 Qualifiers campaign, scheduled to get underway on Wednesday.
Following their three-day stay in Qatar's capital Doha, the squad flew to Jordan's capital Amman on Sunday from where the team started their journey for West Bank through a long bus journey, passing through the Allenby Bridge checkpoint of Israel.
The team are currently staying at Al Jacir Palace in Bethlehem.
Young forward Mohammad Ibrahim, who was in the waiting list when the 23-man final squad was announced, joined the team in Jordan as the replacement of winger Jewel Rana, who was ruled out due to groin injury sustained in Qatar.
