Bashundhara Kings goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico and striker Hernan Barcos are in the running for the Asian Football Confederation’s best player award after the completion of nine matches in the opening week of the AFC Cup.
Bienvinido Maranon Morejon of Philippine club Ceres Negros, Manuchekhr Dzhalilov of Tajikistan outfit FC Istiklol and Maung Maung Lwin of Burmese side Yangon United are the other three contenders.
Fans will be able to vote for their favorite candidate until Friday in the official website of AFC.
Zico was named after saving three penalties against TC Sports of Maldives at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on March 11 while Barcos was nominated for scoring four times in the 5-1 win.
Abahani Limited’s Mamunul Islam and Sohel Rana were previously included in the AFC list for the best goal of the week award.
