Abahani Limited midfielder Sohel Rana has been named the winner of the AFC Cup 2019 Goal of the Week after his stunner in the AFC Cup Inter-Zone semi-final first leg against North Koran outfit 4.25 SC Wednesday night at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
He clinched the award after a public vote on the AFC’s official website.
He got 26,088 votes, 57% of the total votes casted.
O Yun Sun, the head coach of North Korean champion 4.25, confessed in the post-match press conference that they didn’t understand the style of football Abahani Limited would offer.https://t.co/PMUQihB4uu#ABAHANI #FOOTBALL #BANGLADESH #BANGLADESHFOOTBALL #ABAHANILIMITED #LIMITED

His nearest competitor, Quang Hai managed 40% votes.
This makes him the second Bangladeshi, and Abahani player after Mamunul Islam, to achieve this feat.
Mamunul scored a majestic goal in Abahani’s fifth AFC Cup group round match against Nepal champion Manang Marshyangdi Club, where the Bangladesh giant won 5-0.
