Wicketkeeper-batsman Irfan Sukkur scored a patient 85 as Bangladesh A team ended their first innings on 339 runs against BCB HP Unit on the second day of the first four-day game in Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Friday.
After top-order batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto struck 96 on the opening day, Sukkur followed it up with his 174-ball knock, featuring 10 fours and a couple of sixes, to give Bangladesh A team a competitive first-innings total.
BCB HP Unit's right-arm seamer Sumon Khan picked up four wickets, while fellow right-arm pacer Hasan Murad bagged two.
In reply, BCB HP Unit were off to a shaky start, posting 43 for the loss of three wickets at stumps.
The second and final four-dayer will be followed by three one-dayers, where Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim is scheduled to feature in the first two matches.
Mushfiq, who was below-par with the bat in the recently concluded T20I series against New Zealand, will be looking to get some runs under his belt before Bangladesh travel to Oman for the first round of the T20 World Cup.
