Legendary West Indies cricketer Sir Garfield Sobers died at the age of 89, according to Cricket West Indies on Friday.
Sobers played 93 Tests between 1954 and 1974, scoring 8,032 runs and taking 235 wickets. Widely regarded as one of cricket's greatest all-rounders, he scored 365 not out against Pakistan in 1958, a Test record that stood for 36 years.
In a statement, Cricket West Indies said: "A great innings has come to an end. In our hearts, now and forever, Sir Garfield Sobers."
Sobers also played county cricket for Nottinghamshire, was knighted for his services to cricket in 1975, and was named one of Wisden's five Cricketers of the 20th Century.
