Bangladesh opening batsman Liton Das will miss the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia at home.
The right-handed batsman left the national team’s bio-secure bubble in Harare Monday and traveled to Dhaka due to a family emergency, Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed this through a media release Monday midnight.
Liton’s exit from the bio-bubble means he was unable to maintain the quarantine protocol set by Cricket Australia and thus cannot be part of the upcoming series.
Among many Covid-19 protocols for the series, CA and BCB had both agreed to a 10-day quarantine for the teams and officials in bio-bubble ahead of the series.

The Bangladesh team are currently in Harare after completing a sweep of the one-off Test match, one-day and Twenty20 series against Zimbabwe, and will reach Dhaka Thursday.
Australia cricket team will also reach Dhaka Thursday following their ODI series win against the West Indies.
The five T20Is will be played between August 3 and 9 at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium behind closed doors.
