Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain will miss out on the 50-over intra-squad practice game at John Davies Oval Stadium in Queenstown Tuesday due to injury.
Right-handed middle-order batsman Mosaddek picked up a knee injury on the first day of Bangladesh team training in Queenstown Thursday and is currently recovering.
The tourists in the practice game will have the other 19 players of the team participate along with five local cricketers in order to balance the two teams.
The Bangladesh squad have been divided into two teams of 12 players each.
The Green team will be led by Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal while Red team will be captained by top-order batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto.
“Mosaddek hurt his knee during fielding practice on day one of training in Queenstown. He is not available for the warm-up match as he is recovering,” said a statement from Bangladesh Cricket Board media department Monday.
Bangladesh national team cricketers were comfortable in their first team practice session in New Zealand, informed Bangladesh Cricket Board director and team leader Jalal Younus.

Bangladesh cricket team touring New Zealand reached Queenstown last Wednesday after completing a two-week long quarantine in Christchurch as part of the Covid-19 protocols.
The tourists during this time had to clear multiple Covid-19 tests.
Following the camp in Queenstown, Bangladesh team will travel to Dunedin for the first of the three-match ODI series, scheduled for Saturday.
The second and third ODI will take place on March 23 and 26 in Christchurch and Wellington respectively.
The ODI series will be followed by three T20Is, to be played on March 28, 30 and April 1 in Hamilton, Napier and Auckland respectively.
