Mahedi Hasan’s whirlwind 82 trumped Mushfiqur Rahim’s valiant century as Tamim XI beat Najmul XI by 42 runs in the BCB President’s Cup at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Thursday.
Asked to bat first, Tamim XI posted 221 for the loss of nine wickets in their stipulated 50 overs, Mahedi leading the way with a 57-ball 82, featuring nine fours and three sixes.
In reply, Mushfiq scored a 109-ball 103, including nine fours and a six, but lacked support from the other end as Najmul XI registered 179 before losing all of their wickets in 45.4 overs.
