Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal has joined Fortune Barishal on a one-year deal to play in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20, the franchise's chairman Mizanur Rahman confirmed Saturday.
Bangladesh's premier T20 tournament is scheduled to be held after the general election.
Tamim featured for Khulna Tigers in the last BPL but missed most of the tournament due to injury.
All-rounder Shakib al Hasan recently signed for Rangpur Riders, which is why Barishal were desperate to include a marquee player.
