Young batsman Mohammad Naim scored a brilliant century to help Bangladesh A side winning the last match against visiting Afghanistan by 62 runs on Monday and salvaged the series with 2-2.
Naim, the 19-year old opening batsman made 126 to help his side post 262/9 runs on the board before the local bowlers bundled out the opponents for 200 runs in 45.1 overs at BKSP.
After losing the toss, hosts were sent into batting and like the four other games in the series, captain Imrul Kayes got out after making a start. Imrul, who is out of the national fold now, made 28, 40, 23 and 33 in the other matches of the series, followed the trend as he got for 21 in the last match.
But, young opener Naim anchored the innings and got support from Aminul Islam(22) and Afif Hossain (53) as he formed 80 and 84-run partnerships in the third and fourth wicket respectively with them.

Naim, the southpaw, stayed in the crease until 48th over and although he was perished for 126 off 143 balls with 11 boundaries and one six, his innings made sure Bangladesh get past 250-run mark.
However, none of the late order batsmen of the hosts could get a double figure and the regular fall of wickets restrict the hosts from getting a much higher score.
Karim Janat of Afghanistan side was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets conceding 74 runs.
In reply, Afghan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz made a rapid 54 off just 41 balls and the visitors reached 74/1 in just the 14th over.
But the hosts’ bowlers picked up few quick wickets quickly to reduce the opponents for 102-7 in 26th over and almost finished the competition. Afhgan skipper Nasir Jamal made 47 but that could only reduce the margin of defeat.
Yeasin Arafat got three wickets for victors while Aminul Islam and Shafiqul Islam bagged two wickets each for Bangladesh A.
