Injured pacer Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out from the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.
The in-form Taskin has picked up 22 wickets for Sylhet Sixers in 12 innings in BPL 6.
The right-arm pacer incurred an injury in his ankle while trying to take a catch in the boundary line in the 10th over against Chittagong Vikings Friday in Mirpur.
He was immediately taken to a nearby diagnostic centre and it was initially thought the injury was not severe and that he would get fit within a week.
But later, after performing an MRI in his injured left ankle, the assessment revealed that the right-arm paceman needs at least three weeks of rest to recover fully.
He has thus been ruled out of the ODI series against the Kiwis.

The three ODIs are scheduled to be held on February 13, 16 and 20.
“It was unfortunate to become injured this way. I had worked really hard in this tournament to return to the national team. Anyways, pray for me so that I can play at least the Test series against New Zealand,” said a frustrated Taskin.
Taskin has been selected in the Test squad.
However, this injury has cast a doubt over his participation in the first Test as well.
Bangladesh team management is considering two pacers who could replace Taskin - Shafiul Islam and Ebadat Hossian.
Chief selector Minhajul Abedin informed that the replacement will be announced soon.
