Prime Bank South Zone won the Bangladesh Cricket League after defeating BCB North Zone by nine wickets at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium in Chittagong. They won the tournament last year, and after retaining it, they now became four-time BCL champion, the most among all teams.
The previous seasons they won the BCL was in the 2013-14 and the 2014-15 seasons.
The day started with North Zone on 186/5 and they were fighting to save the match with Dhiman Ghosh and Ziaur Rahman at the crease.
That partnership lasted 8.3 overs into the last day of the last round before veteran spinner Abdur Razzak struck when he trapped Dhiman in front for 13, and with the score on 212/6.

It would soon turn into the Razzak show as he would snaffle the three remaining wickets – Sanjamul Islam (two), Saqlain Sajib (seven), Ebadat Hossain (nine) – with North Zone captain Jahurul Islam unable to bat with injury, to bundle the opposition for 280.
Ziaur remained not out, stranded on 77, while Razzak finished with figures of 5/75 and with match figures of 12/144 to grab the man-of-the-match award.
Set a paltry target of just 33 runs, South Zone made short work of the chase, reaching it in just 7.1 overs for the loss of one wicket, Shahriar Nafees, who was lbw for seven runs.
Opener Anamul Haque, who scored 180 in the first innings, was not out on 20 with Fazle Mahmud unbeaten at the other end on eight.
