Al Amin reigns supreme in long jump

Bangladesh Army’s Mujibur Rahman and Navy’s Tamanna Akter won golds in the men’s and women’s 100m hurdles after clocking 15.45s and 14.80s, respectively

Al Amin clinched the bronze medal in long jump in the 13th edition of the South Asian Games in Nepal last month, and the Bangladesh Navy athlete continued his good form on the second day of the National Athletics Championship with a gold Friday.

Al Amin jumped 7.37m and in the process, recorded his 13th gold in 15 attempts at the National Athletics meet.

In the women’s long jump, Al Amin’s teammate Rinki Khatun jumped 5.39m to bag the gold.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Army’s Mujibur Rahman and Navy’s Tamanna Akter won golds in the men’s and women’s 100m hurdles after clocking 15.45s and 14.80s, respectively.

Navy’s Jahir Rayhan and his teammate Sabia al Soha reigned supreme in the men’s and women’s 400m sprint, claiming golds after clocking 48.6s and 59s.

Army’s Mohammad Moniruzzaman and his teammate Papia Akter clinched golds in the men’s and women’s javelin after throwing 59.9m and 37.76m, respectively.

In the 1500m, Army’s Mohammad Al Amin claimed gold after clocking 4 mins and 10.9s.
