The last film song recorded by singer Asha Bhosle, "Ae Meri Zindagi, Tu Chupi Hai Kahan," is scheduled for release on September 8, the makers of Om Ka Hari said.
Bhosle recorded the track in late 2023, when she was in her 90s. The film, directed by Harish Vyas, is a drama-comedy centered on a father-son relationship. Its cast includes Anshuman Jha, Raghubir Yadav, Soni Razdan, and Ayesha Kapur.
According to the makers, the release date was chosen deliberately, as it coincides with what would have been Bhosle's birthday.
Vyas said the timing was meant to honor the singer's body of work and its effect on listeners across generations.
Jha, who appears in the film, said the song holds a personal meaning for him, tied to the film's theme of a son expressing feelings toward his father that he never voiced in real life.
Bhosle died on April 12 this year at age 92. The cause was multi-organ failure, and she was being treated at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at the time. Over a career of more than 70 years, she recorded upward of 12,000 songs and became known for tracks such as "Dum Maro Dum," "Piya Tu Ab To Aaja," "Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko," and "Yeh Mera Dil."
A release date for the film itself has not been finalized.
