Artist Masudur Rahman is set to unveil his 4th solo exhibition, “Ontore Ontorikkhe (Within and Beyond)”, a showcase that examines the emotional and psychological landscape of contemporary human existence.
The exhibition will open on the occasion of the 104th birth anniversary of Shilpaguru Safiuddin Ahmed and will run from June 26 to July 1 at the Safiuddin Shilpalay.
Through a series of paintings, Rahman seeks to give visual form to human thoughts, emotions and experiences. His works portray both the visible and unseen dimensions of life, presenting feelings, memories and perceptions through expressive faces, figures and abstract forms.
The exhibition also engages with some of the defining realities of the modern world, including war, migration, the climate crisis and artificial intelligence. Through these themes, Rahman explores the tensions between humanity’s outward progress and its inner struggles.
Rahman frames the exhibition as an artistic search into human interiority, saying: “At this time, as much as humans have expanded outward, they have also faced their inner darkness and inner self. This is an artistic journey of confronting that inner universe.”
The opening ceremony will be attended by artist, photographer and lyricist Shankar Shawjal, architect and artist Mustapha Khalid Palash, and artist, critic and curator Mustafa Zaman Mithu as special guests.
Rahman has invited art enthusiasts, researchers and visitors to experience the exhibition and engage with its exploration of the human condition.
