The wait for international audiences is finally over, as three Bangladeshi films released during Eid-ul-Azha are now expanding their theatrical runs abroad. Screenings of Rockstar, Roid, and Malik are currently underway across key international markets, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Rockstar, starring Shakib Khan, began its international run last Friday across 41 cinemas in North America and Europe. The film’s overseas distribution is being handled by Swapna Scarecrow. Centered on the life of a musician, the film explores his rise to fame along with the personal struggles and complexities that accompany success. The cast also includes Sabila Nur and Tangia Zaman Methila.

Meanwhile, Mejbaur Rahman Sumon’s Roid was released in Sydney and Melbourne on June 5 and is set to gradually expand to Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra. Distribution in Australia and New Zealand is being managed by Screen Xcope and Deshi Events.

Set in a rural backdrop, Roid follows Sadhu, a young man living in a remote village with his mentally unstable wife. Frustrated by her unpredictable behavior, he repeatedly attempts to abandon her in distant places, only for mysterious events to bring her back each time. Through this story, the film explores themes of love, guilt, responsibility, and human connection. The film features Mostafizur Noor Imran and Nazifa Tushi in the lead roles.

The third Eid release, Malik, is scheduled to screen in Bankstown, New South Wales, on June 13 and 14. Its international distribution is being handled by Bongoj Films. Advance ticket sales have already begun.

To mark the special screenings, lead actor Arifin Shuvoo is set to travel to Australia to engage with audiences. Directed by Saif Chandan, Malik also stars Bidya Sinha Mim in a leading role.
