Acclaimed actress Jaya Ahsan opened up about her journey, her values, and the weight of legacy in a candid conversation on the twelfth episode of the popular podcast Behind the Fame with RRK.

Speaking to host Rumman Rashid Khan, the star of both Bengals reflected on the grit behind the glamour.

“You can’t achieve much with talent,” Jaya said.

“You have to have an indomitable will to reach your goal. You have to test yourself and move forward. Only then will anyone succeed.”

The National Award-winning actress, known for her nuanced performances in both Bangladeshi and Indian cinema, credited her growth to years of perseverance and the mentorship of visionary directors.

“For many years in my acting career, I didn’t even know the camera angle,” she admitted.

“Thanks to the guidance of talented directors, I may have now learned the A, B, C, and D of acting.”

But it wasn’t just her craft that Jaya spoke about.

She revealed a deeply personal connection to her past, both emotional and physical.

“I live in the past,” she said. “Whatever is old is not just the past. The past is always a bridge between the present and the future.”

She shared that her home still holds 200-year-old cupboards and even the very bed she was born in, symbols of continuity and memory.

On the darker side of fame, Jaya addressed the toxicity of online trolling.

“I don’t read the comment box on social media that way,” she said.

“But when I do, I feel bad for those people. Those who enjoy spreading bad words, they may leave this world one day, but the words will remain.”

“It will be their sin, nothing will happen to me.”
