'Film Appreciation Course 2024' was inaugurated at the training building of Chittagong District Shilpakala Academy on 8th December 2024 at 4 pm in the organization of drama and film department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and in collaboration with Chittagong District Shilpakala Academy. The program concluded on January 10 on a high note, pledging to decentralize the training of filmmaking.
The month-long film appreciation course was inaugurated by the director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Syed Jamil Ahmed. Course director Zahirul Islam Kochi among others were present at the opening ceremony; Course instructors are Shaibal Chowdhury and Saikat Dey. Course Coordinator Md Ikramul Islam gave a welcome speech under the direction of District Cultural Officer Chittagong Md Moslem Uddin.
14 instructors conducted 20 classes from 13 December 2024 to 10 January 2025 on every Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Course topics are Film Aesthetics, Film History, Artistic Use of Camera, Editing and Rhythm, Sound and Music in Film, Director's Worldview and Aesthetic Thought, Director's Dream and Application, Theory and Application of Documentary Film, Global Film Movement and Diversity of Aesthetics, Film Language, Film Analysis And criticism, talks with the director, new technology and the future of film.
Under the overall supervision of Faiz Zahir, Director of Drama and Film Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Course Director Zahirul Islam Kochi, the instructors will be Moinuddin Khaled, N Rashed Chowdhury, Zahirul Islam, Humaira Bilkis, Nahid Masood, Wahid Tarek, Rafiqul Anwar Russell, Kashef. Shahbaji, Kisloo Ghulam Haider, Saikat Dey, Shaibal Chowdhury, Chaitali Samaddar, Bidhan Riberu, Sadia Khalid Reeti, Rajibul Hossain.
