Today marks the seventh death anniversary of film legend Abdur Razzak, popularly known as Nayakraj or simply Razzak.
To celebrate his life and legacy, different TV channels are airing special programs. For instance, Channel i has dedicated the regular program 'Gaan Diya Shuru' on Wednesday morning at 7:30 am, to Razzak. Artist Khurshid Alam sang songs from various movies starring Razzak. After that, the special episode of 'Taroka kothon' was aired at 12:30 PM with the actor’s son Somrat as the guest in this event. 'Rajadhiraj Razzak,' a documentary based on the life of Razzak, produced by Shykh Seraj, was shown at 3:05 p.m.
At 10:20 PM, there will be a special episode of the 'Shamoyeki' program about Razzak presented by Abdur Rahman.
There are also many events organized by his family. According to his son Somrat, “We will visit the grave of my father in the Banani cemetery. At home, all of us in the family will recite the Qur'an in memory of our father. There will also be Milad Mahfil. Apart from this, there will be arrangements to feed the poor people at home and outside.”
He continues, “Baba was a film hero to everyone else. But he was a real life hero to us. He used to tell us stories of his struggles. Baba proved that if one has determination towards something, then one can reach his goal.”
The Kolkata born actor not only won the hearts of both Bengals, he also revolutionized the Dhakai film industry with his craft in Behula, Rangbaz, Anwara and many more.
