Mohammad Ali Haider’s “Shokhi Rongomala” returned in theartres with a new lineup of impeccable actors. The play was first debuted on January 24 2023.
“Shokhi Rongomala” captures a dystopian society that displays discrimination alongside romance, strength, freedom and women empowerment.
This play is based on the novel of the same name by author Shaheen Akhtar. The novel follows 18th century legend from Noakhali. The play is written by Samina Luthfa Nitra and Soumya Sarkar.
The cast includes Sharmi Mala, Shahinur Akhter Preeti, Mahbub Masum, Kazi Roksana Ruma, Taufiq Hasan Bhuiya, Hafiza Aktar Jhuma, Sanjana Farah and Ashraful Islam Osru. With live immersive music and seasoned actors, “Shoki Rongomala” is a spectacle to behold and a testament to the power of theatre to engage audiences even if the complicated plotline with a large cast is hard to follow.
The play took place from July 12 to July 13 at Bangladesh Mohila Somiti.
