A painting exhibition titled ‘Synthetic Reality’ will be inaugurated on July 12, Friday at 6:30 pm at Kalakendra. IO Psychologist Sohel Rahman will be attending as a special guest.

According to the visual author Javed Jalil, “Synthetic in this exhibition is a deduction relating more to the thinking mind and thought activity patterns, questioning whether thinking itself is artificial. Where reality consists of micro fragments of situations, moments engulf us in a rapture of impulse and aggression, an emotive urge, and a longing to be still. It’s an absurd restlessness with our thoughts. Our space of awareness as humans is in flux, shifting into various forms of reality on the interface of existence. The conflict is a doorway for perception. Delving into countless platforms that engage different facets of human existence, trying to find a space. Navigating through societal norms, beliefs, biased narratives, and the pursuit of truth, the question arises: Why do we need the truth? In this exposition, I aim to express my fascination with lines, structure, boundaries, and the limitations of perceptions while also confronting the vague emptiness of being, which is intertwined with the delusions of a certain romanticisms. This, questions the paradox of how reality is truly unknown to us, and we continuously find means to connect our existence to multiple contexts of realities.”

The exhibition will close on July 27.
