The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) theatre group “Theatre ULAB” organised a play called “Prae Tin Char Jon” (About three/four people) at 7 pm August 16.
The quarter of an hour long play staged in the university’s research building auditorium was written by Zahid Sohag and directed by Sarwar Jahan Upol.
Post the performance, Sohag came on stage to express his thoughts stating, “We saw this amazing performance despite the fact that the students’ did not even have a month to rehearse. If I had to note what this play was trying to say, I think the main meaning of this play is silence. All over the world death is everywhere, in the name of politics, religion. Newspapers often give us a number of these deaths. But behind every number there is a person, who once had a life and a family.”
Dr. Kazi Anis Ahmed, Vice President, Board of Trustees of ULAB, was present on the occasion. During his speech he stated, “I’ve read this play before. When we read something, a picture is formed in our minds. But after watching this performance, it has completely shifted towards something more amazing.”
Students, parents, teachers and the management board of the university were in attendance. The play captivated the audience through various thought provoking dialogues and gestures.
